Abstract

The fact that many internationally renowned scientists have been educated in the former Soviet Union shows that many features of its education system were good. In this session, we briefly describe the features that we believe to have been good. Some of these features have already been successfully implemented (with appropriate adjustments) in affinity research groups at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).
