The distribution of N electric charges in a linear wire
Abstract
Our purpose is to study, using a minimization method, the behavior of N electrical charges placed on a one dimensional wire of unit length compared with a given uniform distribution, and we will find the minimum energy of the non-uniform distribution. This method uses a parameter, which always gives less energy than the energy of a uniform distribution.
