Abstract

The UTEP Department of Music offers courses in music education, commercial music, music theory, and music history. The program includes student groups such as the Jazz Ensembles, Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, Symphony Band, Mariachi, Percussion Ensemble, Pandemonium, Chorale, Men's Glee Club, Women's Glee Club, and the Jazz Singers. The Music department regularly puts on faculty and student concerts. The UTEP Department of Music records date 1910s – 2009, bulk 1950s – 1970s. Types of records include sheet music, programs, newsletters, clippings, and correspondence. These records also include materials about the University Civic Ballet and the Golddiggers dance team.
