Summary of Interview

Carlos attended school in the United States while living in México with his family and at the age of 19, his father decided to move the family to the United States permanently. Carlos Sr. owned a transportation business and Carlos would tinker with the bus ticket machines. His fascination with computers grew and he got a degree in computer science. After college Carlos worked for his father some more before starting his own company, Icon Technologies. Icon Technologies went dormant and Carlos along with his business partner Ruben Ramirez started E.R. Computer Doctors in 2002. At E.R. Computer Doctors, Carlos and Ruben network computers, work with the operating systems, clean infections, connect them, set them up and try to help the customer with their computer issues as best as they can. They work to take care of each and every customer. Since they rely on word of mouth, Carlos and Ruben work to make sure that every customer who has come into E.R. Computer Doctors will be treated with respect. Carlos is very hands on and it is only him and Ruben who run E.R. Computer Doctors. The advice Carlos would offer entrepreneurs is to be truthful with your customers, realize that owning a small business is not a 9-5 job.
