DigitalCommons@UTEP is an Institutional Repository (IR), or digital archive, of the research being done at UTEP. Items eligible for inclusion in DigitalCommons@UTEP include pre-prints, post-prints, working papers, photographs, dissertations, and technical reports, just to name a few.
The database is easy to search and highly discoverable on the web. Faculty experience wider distribution of their works, whether previously published in a different version or newly published, as the Digital Commons provides worldwide open access.
Authors who deposit documents in Digital Commons receive monthly statistics reporting the number of times their work has been downloaded.
Additionally Digital Commons offers a platform for:
- Publishing E-journals
- Managing Conferences and conference proceedings
- OER Textbooks
- Storing data sets
Your inclusion of published journal articles in DigitalCommons@UTEP is an extension of your copyright to the work. If you are unsure of your publisher's policy on copyright and self archiving the Sherpa-Romeo web site lists the policies of many publishers. You can search for a specific journal's policies at eprints.org.
Additional information on Digital Commons, and Expert Gallery, can be found in this Research Guide. For help adding content to Digital Commons contact Lisa Weber at or (915) 747-5039.
