Born in El Paso, Elliot Chess (d. 1962) was a decorated military pilot and writer. The Elliot Chess papers, MS238, date circa 1910s – 1959. Types of records include correspondence, military orders and service documentation, literary manuscripts and notes, photos, clippings, medals, and artwork. These materials help document Chess’s family life, military career, and writing activities.
