General interviews, numbers 1-960

The Institute of Oral History at the University of Texas at El Paso has been adding to this collection since 1972. Some of the recordings in the collection are not interviews, but historical radio recordings, speeches, or panel discussions. Most of the interviews deal with the U.S.-Mexico border region, but some projects focused a series of interviews on a particular topic. Examples of project-driven interview groups include Mining in Mexico; World War II; UTEP History; Big Bend National Park; and Chamizal. Among many other topics covered are artists in El Paso; the Chicano Movement; race relations; immigration; legal and business history. The interviews can be searched for keywords or any word found in the text.
